This app provides two opportunities for readers: to participate in the production process of your favorite authors’ books by becoming a pre-launch beta reader, and to read exclusively available material from those authors here on the Pacific Crest Publishing beta reading app! Have you spotted errors in your favorite authors’ books and wished that someone, somewhere, could have caught those errors before the book made it to market? With our system it’s as simple as opening our app on your mobile device, requesting and being granted permission to participate as a beta reader, then opening the book and swiping a word, phrase, or passage which contains such an error while you read the book on your mobile device. Now you can play an active role in improving the quality of your favorite written works!
For authors, we aim to streamline the beta reading and pre-launch feedback process into a single, secure, and easy-to-use interface. Using our system your beta readers will mark any simple errors (such as spelling, grammar, punctuation, wrong word usage, tense issues, etc..) they spot by ‘tagging’ them with a color-coded highlight for your later review. All of the tags made by your group of beta readers will be consolidated onto a single document for your perusal, which dramatically cuts down on the amount of time you have to spend sifting through the various rough draft copies you used to hand out to your trusted beta readers.
We also provide community interaction opportunities, such as our comments sections which are attached to each book’s unique page within our system. Here you can receive in-depth feedback from your readers for issues that are more complicated than the simple errors described above. Our goal is to create a space where indie authors and their readers can come together as a community to produce the highest quality product.
